THE NERVOUS SYSTEM RESET

The Nervous System Reset

You hold it together all day, then fall apart the moment you walk through your own front door. You lie on the couch calling yourself lazy when the truth is your body has nothing left. You're exhausted and wired at the same time, snapping at the people you love over nothing, then lying awake replaying it.

If any of that feels familiar, I want you to hear this clearly:

Nothing is wrong with you. You've just never been given the map.

Why "calm down" has never worked

Willpower and positive thinking are aimed at your thinking brain. But when you're anxious, overwhelmed, or shut down, your thinking brain isn't the one in charge.

Your nervous system is.

Trying to think your way out of a state your nervous system has shifted into is why so many quick tips have left you feeling like you're failing at something that should be simple.

You haven't failed.

You've simply been handed tools for the wrong problem.

The Nervous System Reset helps you understand what's happening inside your body using a simple Green, Amber, Red model, then teaches you practical, evidence-informed skills to work with your nervous system rather than against it.

It's plain English and practical skills, with none of the complicated science.

What you'll learn

  • The three nervous system states (Green, Amber, Red) and how to recognise which one you're in

  • Why "calm down" rarely works, and what to try instead

  • How the stress cycle works and ways to help your body complete it

  • Breathwork that can help settle your nervous system, including extended exhale, box breathing, and the physiological sigh

  • Grounding tools for coming back to the present when your mind has run off

  • Somatic techniques that can help release built-up tension from the body

  • How to work with emotions rather than getting swept away by them

  • How to unhook from anxious, spiralling thoughts

  • Boundaries that support your nervous system, and how to hold them without guilt

  • How to stay more regulated during conflict, repair after difficult moments, and co-regulate with the people you love

  • Which tool suits which state, so you always know your next move

  • How to be kinder to yourself in the process, because none of this works while you're attacking yourself for needing it

What this course is designed to help you build

  • Recognising stress earlier rather than only noticing it once you've crashed

  • Recovering more quickly after hard moments instead of feeling stuck in them

  • Understanding your body's signals instead of fighting them

  • Feeling more present with the people and the work that matter most

How much of this shows up in your life depends on you practising it, the same as anything else worth learning.

Who this is for, and who it isn't

This course is for you if you're functioning but running on empty, and you want to understand your own body rather than collect more tips.

It isn't the right fit if you're in crisis, working through unresolved trauma, or looking for something to replace individual therapy. This is general psychoeducation, not psychological treatment.

If you're carrying something heavy, these tools work best alongside support from a trauma-informed therapist or other qualified mental health professional, rather than instead of one.

Why me

I'm Millie Hardie, an AHPRA-registered psychologist. Alongside my clinical practice, I share psychology in plain English as The Pocket Psychologist, where more than 1 million people follow along across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

This course brings together evidence-informed work from leaders in the field, including Emily and Amelia Nagoski on the stress cycle, Stephen Porges and Deb Dana on the nervous system, research from Stanford University on the physiological sigh, and Kristin Neff on self-compassion.

My job has been translating that research into plain English and practical skills you can actually use in everyday life.

Why now

Your nervous system learns through repetition rather than insight.

There's no shortcut worth selling you.

There's only practice, and practice is what changes your baseline over time.

What you get

  • Over 3 hours of teaching

  • 13 self-paced lessons (approximately 10-15 minutes each), yours to keep for life

  • A 40 page printable workbook with check-ins, exercises, scripts, and practical skill pages

  • Eight guided audio practices to use whenever you need them

  • Lifetime access, so your toolkit is there whenever life knocks you sideways
