The Perinatal Academy

Make it your job to be obsessed with birth!

May 2027 - Antenatal & Early Postnatal Diploma

May 2027 - Antenatal & Early Postnatal Diploma

£1,345

Birthing confident Antenatal Teachers! Train as a FEDANT-accredited Antenatal & Early Postnatal Educator and build a birth business you love, on your terms.

You're obsessed with birth! You light up talking about physiology, informed consent, the postpartum window nobody prepares people for and have a passion for supporting parents and wanting a different way of life for you and your family.

We are very proud of this diploma! You'll graduate FEDANT-accredited (nationally recognised, and it gets you lower insurance rates and a listing on the national register), with a full antenatal curriculum under your belt, and with a business plan not just a qualification!

Who This Is For

  • You’re ready to leave the 9–5, start something new or build flexible, meaningful work that fits around your family and your life.

  • You’re passionate about birth and supporting parents, and you would love to turn that passion into work that genuinely fulfils you.

  • You’re already a doula, midwife or birth worker and want to add a recognised teaching qualification to the work you already do.

  • Your own experience of pregnancy, birth or the postnatal period has inspired you to support other families.

  • You want training that feels genuinely modern, inclusive and relevant to the families you’ll be working with.

And just to be really clear: you do not need to have given birth yourself, and you don’t need any previous experience in the birth world, to become an incredible antenatal teacher!

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • FEDANT accreditation through the UK’s leading regulatory body for antenatal education, meaning you can begin teaching, get insured and build your business as soon as you qualify. It is also internationally recognised, giving you the flexibility to teach families abroad or take your qualification with you if you relocate.

  • More than 30 hours of live core training with experienced educators, alongside self-paced foundation modules that you can return to whenever you need them.

  • A real, working plan for your business, not just lots of information and a vague instruction to go off and find some clients! Our marketing live module helps you turn your training into something tangible, and you’ll also receive a full 12 months inside The Perinatal Collective, with ongoing mentoring, marketing support and monthly workshops.

  • Birthing Your Business self paced course, which takes you through every single step you need to set up so you can come back to this over and over again. We are talking about how to register as a sole trader, how to set up your Google platforms, SEO instructions, there is SO MUCH HERE all fully supported by us here when you need it live.

  • Four one-hour coaching calls during your first year after graduating, so you are not left alone trying to work out how to find your first clients, market yourself or actually get your new business moving.

  • A community of brilliant educators around you for the long haul. Your support does not disappear when the nine weeks are over; we are here as you begin teaching, grow in confidence and work out what you want your career to look like.

The Perinatal Academy was founded by Sam — Antenatal Educator, Doula, Breastfeeding Peer Supporter and Hypnobirthing Instructor.

After training herself, Sam could see there was a real gap for genuinely modern, inclusive antenatal education that came with practical business guidance and meaningful, long-term support. So, she created the training she wished she had.

You bring the heart. We’ll help you hone your skills!

Good to Know

Do I need to attend live?
All of our sessions are recorded, so you can catch up if you need to, but you will need to attend at least 75% of the training live before we can issue your Diploma certificate. If you already know that you may struggle to make one of the dates, please talk to us. We understand that life happens, and we will always try to be as flexible as we can.

What happens if I can’t attend, or a session needs to be postponed?
Life happens to you and to us! If you can no longer attend the course you have booked, you can transfer your place to a future course, although we are unable to offer a refund in this situation.

Very occasionally, we may need to postpone a session because of educator illness, a birth we need to attend or something else completely unforeseen. If this happens, we will rearrange the live session wherever possible. If that isn’t possible, we will provide the recording alongside an opportunity to join us for a live Q&A.

What is the refund policy?
You can request a full refund within seven days of booking, although deposits are non-refundable. If The Perinatal Academy ever needs to cancel a course, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer your place to a future course.

When will I receive my certification?
Your Diploma certificate will be issued once you have attended at least 75% of the training live, completed your assignments and, if you are paying through a payment plan, paid your final balance in full.

I have loved learning with TPA, the highlight of my week is sitting down with likeminded people and immerce myself in all things birth! Nothing is off limits, the support is second to none and the knowledge everyone brings to the table is incredible. Sam, Lisa & all at TPA are available for questions, assignments, debriefs etc and it creates such a beautiful environment where you know that you will always have support if you reach out for it. The passion that is clear to see in each session is a constant reminder of why I want to do this as a career. Sam has created such a warm community with honesty and integrity at the heart of it all. With the collective an option to join at the end of the course, the learning never ends and I love that there are regular chances to meet up and continuously learn, be aware of latest legislation, policies and guidelines and have a support network for birth workers whilst we support our clients. Couldn’t recommend the course more!

An absolutely fantastic company, I recently completed my Hypnobirthing Teacher training and couldn’t be happier with the resources and support provided. I had previously done my Antenatal Educator training with another company and was left disappointed, I wish I had found The Perinatal Academy from the start but so glad to be part of the community now.

Sam & the team have been incredible throughout! I’ve been able to train at the comfort of my own home while juggling a 2 year old and newborn, and have been totally supportive & accommodating throughout. I cannot thank you enough and I look forward to starting my journey in the birth world! Xxx
