For those of you who feel deeply drawn to supporting families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood but need a way to train flexibly around time zones this pathway was created for you.

This is not a stripped-back online course. This is our full Antenatal Diploma delivered through a carefully supported blend of self-paced study, recorded live teaching, mentor guidance, coursework feedback and ongoing community support.

You’ll be learning directly from real teaching sessions taken from our most recent live diploma cohorts, alongside dedicated diploma modules created specifically for this training. You’ll hear the conversations, questions, reflections and discussions that naturally unfold when birth workers learn together, allowing you to experience the depth and nuance of real antenatal education, wherever you are in the world.

And although the course is flexible and self-paced, you are absolutely not doing this alone. Throughout the diploma you’ll be supported by one of our experienced Antenatal Educators through regular mentor check-ins, written feedback and ongoing guidance as your confidence, knowledge and teaching voice begin to grow.

As soon as you enrol, you’ll receive immediate access to your Foundation Modules, designed to ground your understanding before moving into the core teaching work.

Foundation topics include:

  • The Physiology of Birth

  • History of Birth

  • Caesarean Birth & Recovery

  • Additional foundational topics

You can move through these modules in your own time before progressing into the full teaching diploma.

Inside the Core Diploma you’ll explore:

Please note:
This pathway is specifically designed for international students and is delivered primarily through recorded trainings from our most recent live diploma cohort, alongside dedicated diploma modules, mentor support and live assessment.

Although this is an international access diploma, most of the recorded teaching and self-paced content is based around UK maternity services, UK guidelines and UK birth systems. Maternity care can look very different depending on where you live, so if you are planning to work outside the UK it will be your responsibility to research and replace any UK-specific information with the relevant evidence-based guidance, policies and systems used in your own country.

We really encourage students to adapt the learning to fit their own local maternity systems and continue keeping up to date with current evidence and guidance where they live.

Refunds are available for seven days after booking. After this point, or once course materials have been accessed, refunds are no longer offered. Deposits are non-refundable. The Perinatal Academy reserves the right to update educators or module content where necessary whilst always maintaining the integrity and quality of the training.
