This past year, I used Claude to automate my 2 other businesses. Now it edits my reels too. All I do is film.

  • CapCut for your computer. It's free.

  • About 10 minutes for setup.

  • You "hate tech." If you can text, you can do this.

This is NOT for you if you love editing every frame by hand. Keep going, you're a legend.

Questions

Do I need to know anything about AI? Nope. You type normal sentences, like texting a friend. I don't even type. I talk to it with Wispr Flow.

Is Claude free? The app is free to download, but The Lazy Editor needs Claude Pro (about $20 a month). The free plan doesn't include the part that does the editing.

Mac or Windows? Both.

Does it post for me? No. Your reel opens in CapCut, you take a look, then export and post. You're always in control.

Can I still change things? Yes. Every cut, caption and sound is its own piece in CapCut, so you can drag, delete or retype anything. Or tell Claude "change the hook" and it builds you a new version.

Where do my videos go? Nowhere. The editing happens on your computer, and your videos stay there. Claude reads the words you said to plan the edit.
