Just wanted to reach out and say thank you for the t1d babysitter list. Yes it was amazing having our 4th date night since our 3y/o son’s diagnosis last October but the real icing on the cake was seeing my son recognize our sitter’s sensor, and then immediately pulling up his shirt sleeve to show off his pod. He was so happy to see someone like him. it made me tear up. You all are doing amazing work thank you.

So thankful for type one together’s babysitting list! We found two on the list & have used them several times. Both have t1, so it gives our daughter great diabetes role models too! Super sweet young ladies, very responsible, and our daughter absolutely loves them!

I was very anxious to leave my 5-year-old with T1D with anyone other than my husband. I worried most about someone else treating lows and understanding all the technology that goes along with managing my son’s T1D. Then I found the babysitter list. I had the information for a little while before I decided to go for it and I am so glad I did! There were a few sitters in my area. I emailed the closest with my fingers crossed. Thankfully, I got a quick response and met an amazing person who has T1D and also happens to have all the tech my son has. It has been so good for my mental health to have someone I can trust and who completely gets it. My husband and I have even been able to go on a date! We found the best babysitter through the type one babysitter list. It has been so wonderful to have a trustworthy person who understands diabetes. Previously we just taught very little basics to our sitters and also count on older siblings to help. With our new connection we have a friend who is willing to answer diabetes questions and she was so confident to care for our son. My daughter said “mom, I didn’t even have to bolus my brother because the babysitter did it”. She wears the same pump as my son and he thought that was pretty cool.
