Stan Sessions LA: The Real-World Connection Creators Have Been Craving

Share    —

TL;DR: Stan Sessions launched in LA in June 2025—an in-person gathering for Creators to meet, share, and grow together. Built by Creators, for Creators, these aren’t just mixers—they’re communities being built in real-time, across the continent. Here’s what went down, what feedback we heard, and how to get involved next.

Creators are online constantly because the job goes far beyond content creation. It’s engagement, brand-building, and audience discovery. The digital grind can feel isolating and burnout is real, leaving many Creators searching ways to connect with like-minded Creator-Entrepreneurs. At Stan, we get it because we’re Creators too.

Conferences and brand events exist, but what’s missing are spaces where Creators can truly connect: talk about fears, dreams, and the realities of building a career that lasts. We’ve build Stan Sessions to fill that gap. These are intentional, community-driven events where vulnerability meets vision; part Stan-led, part Creator-led.

Our vision is simple: intimate, inspired events where Creators uplift each other, sharing stories of success, failure, wins, challenges, and big ambitions. Whether hosted by the Stan team or a Stan ambassador, Stan Sessions is for those who truly get what is possible in this industry.

Bet on Yourself: Our First LA Event Recap

Our first Stan Session happened right at Stan’s HQ in Venice Beach. Picture this: a sunset over the Californian horizon while Creators buzz over great conversations, food, and drinks. The evening kicked off with Sarah Perl, known as @HotHighPriestess, guiding the group through a manifestation to set intentions right for the night.

Sarah then joined her co-panelists, Lo Gold and JT Barnett for an engaging and very real discussion around the struggles and triumphs of building your own business as a Creator. The chat brought out creative reflection and candid discussion from the panelists. But most importantly, their wise words resonated with guests.

Here are some key takeaways from the panel:

Sarah Perl: Obsession Is the Starting Point, Not the End Goal

For Sarah, obsession isn’t burnout—it’s belief. The most successful Creators aren’t the ones with perfect systems or strategies. They’re the ones willing to start messy, stay curious, and keep creating even when no one’s watching.

Her message was a reminder that the first version of your creative self doesn’t need polish, it just needs conviction. When you treat your creativity as sacred, trust your instincts, and release fear around money, you give your work permission to grow from passion into purpose.

Lo Gold: Self-Trust Is the Real Strategy

Lo Gold LA Stan Sessions Talk

Lo reminded the room that no amount of strategy can replace self-belief. The creative process isn’t about suffering for success , it’s about learning to trust your instincts enough to build from what you already know. By betting on herself, Lo reframed success as an inside job: healing old narratives around money, letting go of perfectionism, and creating from lived experience.

Her biggest message? You don’t earn your worth by struggling, you prove it by showing up with conviction.

JT Barnett: Simplicity Creates Momentum

JT Barnett Stan Sessions

JT reframed risk as logic. In a world where nothing is guaranteed, betting on yourself is the most rational move you can make. His philosophy is built on action over overthinking: create more, simplify everything, and remove the friction that keeps you from showing up.

The formula is simple but powerful: volume breeds clarity, and consistency builds opportunity. When you strip away perfectionism and lean into momentum, growth becomes inevitable.

“Hearing someone else say the thing I was too scared to say hit different.”Stan Sessions Guests

After the chat, the night evolved into a flurry of excited chatter and laughter as attendees made new connections with our panelists, the Stan team, and most importantly, with each other. Guests left with their own little tree seedlings equipped with the simple direction: plant what you’re building.

Why Stan Sessions Matter

Stan Sessions LA attendees

Creators told us they walked away feeling recharged, supported, and seen. That’s the whole purpose of Stan Sessions—to remind Creators that they’re not doing this alone, there’s a growing movement of peers and allies rooting for their success.

We believe this is just the start. What began in LA has begun expanding into more cities, starting with Stan Sessions in Toronto, Phoenix, and Atlanta—and this is just the beginning! Each one will be locally driven, Stan-supported, and designed to help Creators build deeper connections in their own communities.

We’re always on the lookout for Stan Ambassadors who are interested in hosting their very own Session.
