You asked, we listened. Your most-requested Stan Store feature is finally here—the secret to maximizing sales and tailoring your customer journey on autopilot: Funnels.

We’re breaking down everything you need to know about Funnels, how they work, and why you should use them.

What’s a Funnel?

A funnel lets you seamlessly guide your audience from one offer to the next—and boost sales without lifting a finger. Instead of bombarding customers with all of the products on your Stan Store at once, a Funnel directs customers through a curated series of offers one at a time.

After someone enters your funnel by signing up for a lead magnet or buying an initial offer, they’ll automatically be redirected to the next offer in your funnel—and then the next, and so on. You can use Funnels to collect leads, promote your core offer, and upsell or downsell based on customers’ actions.

For example, your funnel might start with a freebie (like a PDF with your top five recipes), then automatically give people who have opted in the chance to buy your full recipe ebook.

If someone buys the full recipe book, you can follow up with an upsell to your 4-week cooking course. And if they don’t buy the full recipe ebook, you can downsell them on a smaller offer—like a $3 cookie recipe.

How Stan Store Funnels Work

At Stan, we’re constantly looking for ways to help Creators be more successful. Funnels can help Creators earn over 37% more per order on average—so we knew we had to build them.

But the last thing we wanted to do was roll out a complicated stack of features with a steep learning curve like every other tech tool (You know the ones 👀). So we made it as easy as possible to set up a funnel and start earning with Stan.

Here’s how it works.

Heads up! Funnels re only available on the Creator Pro plan. But don’t worry—we’re giving you a 30 day free trial to try it out before you decide whether to upgrade.

Understanding Funnel Pages

Before we get into how to create a funnel, let’s break down the different page types you’ll see inside your Stan account.

There are three page types within a funnel:

  • Entry page—this is the first page someone will see when they enter your funnel. It’s typically a free lead magnet or low-ticket offer designed to attract a wider audience.
  • Subsequent offer—the next product a customer will see after the entry page. This is usually where you’ll put your primary paid offer or core product.
  • Following offers—these pages let you create upsell and downsell paths that dictate what your customer sees next based on whether they purchase or skip the previous offer.

Think of these as individual landing pages that lead your customers through a journey. Even though you’ll be able to see all of your funnel pages inside your Stan account, your customers will only see one page at a time.

Upsells vs Downsells

Once you’ve published a subsequent offer page, you can add upsell and downsell offers to your funnel. These send customers down different paths depending on whether they purchase or pass on an offer.

It’s a great way to boost your average order value (AOV) while giving your customers a shopping experience that feels curated to their interests.

How to Create a New Funnel in Stan

Now that we’ve covered the basics of Funnels, you’re ready to start creating one. Funnels take a little more time to set up than a standalone offer. But once they’re live, they sell on autopilot—and make you money while you sleep.

Create your first Stan Store Funnel

To set yours up:

1. Log in to your Stan Store account and click +More from the left-hand menu.

2. Toggle Funnels on. Now, you should see Funnels in the left-hand menu of your account.

3. Click +Create New Funnel and start editing your Funnel details.

4. Make it yours. Select your products, customize the banner and button copy, curate your customer journey with upsells and downsells, and hit Publish Page. Continue until you’ve added all the offers you’d like included in your funnel.

5. Preview your funnel to see the customer experience yourself and make sure everything looks and functions the way you want it to.

6. Hit Publish to My Store, and Stan will automatically create and redirect you to a new URL/Media Product in your My Store tab.

7. Customize how it appears in your store, hit Publish, and voilá—your funnel is live! Customers will now be able to enter your Funnel directly from your Stan Store.

5 Reasons Why Your Creator Business Needs a Funnel

At this point, you know how to create a funnel. But you might still be wondering why you should use one in the first place.

There are countless ways today’s top Creators use Funnels to save time, earn more, and grow their business. But here are the top five reasons Funnels are a must-have for Creator-Entrepreneurs who want to monetize.

Setting up your Funnel in Stan Store

1. Make Money While You Sleep

Most Creators decide to start their own business because they want more freedom over their time and money. But you only have so many hours in a day—and when you’re building solo, you need tools that can keep selling for you regardless of how much time you put in.

That’s what Funnels do. You can set them up once and let them run on autopilot, quietly turning leads into customers without any extra work.

And with Stan Store, you don’t have to duct tape multiple tools together to connect your funnel to a payment processor and email tool. Your Stan Funnels will automatically guide customers through each page, collect payments, and deliver everything—so you can truly sit back and sell while you sleep.

2. Help Your Audience Discover Related Products

You know your offers and the value you can provide inside and out—but that doesn’t mean your customers intuitively do.

They’re busy scrolling their feed, and when they click into your Stan Store, you’ve only got a few seconds to hold their attention before they exit the page. So instead of sending them to a long list of your offers, the smarter move is to drive traffic to your funnel and gradually introduce them to the offers they’re most likely to buy.

You can use your funnel to connect the dots between which offers pair best together, nudging customers towards an “aha!” moment that sells itself.

For instance, let’s say you’re a multi-passionate entrepreneur who offers everything from art workshops to fitness programs. Instead of throwing a wide variety of offers into one funnel, you could curate it to help specific audiences find related products.

Your funnel might guide customers from:

  1. A free watercoloring masterclass  ⬇
  2. $29 coloring book  ⬇
  3. $150 Private watercolor workshop  ⬇
  4. $1,000 7-day art retreat

The watercoloring masterclass is likely to attract people who enjoy art. And because each of the following offers in the funnel feels relevant and art-related, they’ll be more likely to make add-on purchases than someone looking for fitness products.

Pro tip: Decision paralysis is real. Instead of overwhelming your audience with options, you can use Funnels to tailor the customer experience and make the journey feel natural (not salesy).

3. Maximize Your Average Order Value (AOV)

Instead of hustling to get more new customers, you can use Funnels to maximize the value of your existing ones. Creators who use Funnels tend to increase their average order value by over 37%, and you could, too.

If someone is in your funnel, they’ve already shown interest in what you have to offer—whether by signing up for a free resource or buying a product. Your job is to turn that interest into higher sales by creating an irresistible customer journey.

You don’t have to hard sell to make money. All you need to do is think strategically about the upsell and downsell offers you include at each point in your funnel. Ask yourself: What feels like the most logical next step here?

The more relevant the offers in your funnel are, the more natural it’ll feel for your customers when they’re shown products.

Earn More by adding upsells and downsells to your Stan Store Funnel

Here’s an example. If you’re a social media coach and have just sold someone a 1:1 call, you could add:

  • An upsell to your 6-month live coaching program, where they can continue learning from you at a deeper level and a more consistent pace.
  • A downsell to your self-paced mini course, where they can get extra support beyond the initial call with you at a more affordable rate than the coaching program.

Building both higher-ticket and lower-ticket options into your funnel naturally boosts your order value because it gives people with different needs and price points ample options to choose from.

4. Make New Customers Feel Exclusive

Another reason successful Creators, like Rachel Adams Lee, love using Funnels is because of the scarcity you can create with them. Funnels help you create a sense of urgency and exclusivity by selling products in your funnel that aren’t visible on your Stan Store.

By giving your audience a one-time offer or product they can’t find anywhere else, you create FOMO. Suddenly, customers feel more inclined to add an item to their cart because they know they won’t have the opportunity to buy it again.

Rachel has used this exact strategy to earn over $113,000 by simply offering an exclusive 90-day social media tracker to clients who booked a 1:1 call with her.

“Standalone, people aren’t really going to buy it. But if they’re buying a social media call with me, then they’re like, ‘Well, of course I want to track my results.’”

5. Scale With The Right Systems

One of the biggest benefits of Funnels is what they can do for your business growth. It’d take you forever to promote each of your products individually and drive consistent sales to all of them. And the more time you spend promoting your offers, the less you have to focus on other areas of your business—and, more importantly, your life.

Creator working from laptop

There comes a time in every Creator-Entrepreneur’s journey when you realize the only way forward is to build systems that can scale. You can’t be everywhere or do everything at once—and Funnels can take sales off your plate.

Sure, you’ll still need to create content to promote your funnel. But instead of overwhelming your audience by promoting every single offer you have, you can focus solely on delivering upfront value through a freebie or initial offer and let your funnel do the rest.

Funnels are built to scale with your business. You can set them up once, earn on repeat, and get back more time to focus on what you do best: Creating.

Turn Followers Into Customers on Autopilot

Funnels are the easiest way to sell more without doing more. You can set them up once and keep guiding customers to the right offers long after you hit publish—effortlessly turning leads into customers (and higher sales) in the background.
