The Decades Ahead Summit was created in response to what I see every day in clinical practice: women are overwhelmed with health information, yet under-supported in understanding what actually matters for their long-term health.
The Decades Ahead Summit is a full-day, in-person preventive health summit designed to help women understand how the choices they make today shape their health, independence, and quality of life for decades to come.
Why This Summit Is Different
✔️ Longer, detailed talks — not rushed 20-minute overviews
✔️ Evidence-based education grounded in clinical practice
✔️ Context, not fear — understanding risk without alarm
✔️ Actionable clarity — so you leave knowing what your next steps are
This is the kind of information I wish every patient had access to before health issues appear.
This summit is designed for women who:
Want to be proactive rather than reactive about their health
Are navigating perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause
Feel confused by conflicting health advice online
Want to understand their labs, risks, and options more clearly
Care about longevity — but value quality of life just as much as length of life
You do not need a medical background.
You just need curiosity and a desire to be an informed participant in your own health.
Preventive health is a long game.
What you do in your 30s, 40s, and 50s compounds into your 60s, 70s, and beyond — much like compound interest.
This summit is about helping you:
Ask better questions
Understand your personal risk factors
Make decisions rooted in evidence, not trends
Feel confident advocating for your health

I am really excited to introduce you to the phenomenal speakers at this event:
Dr. Woganee Filate, MHSc, MD, FRCPC, MSCP
Dr. Woganee Filate is a passionate and dedicated adult respirologist and sleep medicine physician committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based and patient-centered care. She has a wealth of experience in diagnosing and managing respiratory and sleep disorders. Her interests include educating patients on the changes in sleep during the menopause transition and what can be done to optimize sleep during this key life stage. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Filate holds a Master of Health Science, with a focus on Community Health & Epidemiology, from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Amy Louis-Bayliss, BHSc, MD, FRCP(c), MSCP
Dr. Amy Louis-Bayliss has been an MD for almost 20 years, spending most of her career as an emergency medicine specialist with two additional years of training as a menopause specialist in Hamilton and Oakville. Dr. Louis-Bayliss is an advocate for women’s healthy aging – her interest in menopause and healthy aging stems from years of treating and managing disease in the ER once it was already “too late”. Amy sits on the advisory board for the National Menopause Show. She is passionate about educating women to build self-agency when it comes to disease-prevention.
Dr. Sarah Shaw, MSW, EdD, MD, CCFP, FCFP, MSCP
Dr. Sarah Naomi Shaw is passionate about addressing health issues for midlife women and is committed to raising awareness for improved menopause care. Before co-founding Lume, she spent 15 years running a family medicine practice in downtown Toronto and, more recently, serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at Taddle Creek Family Health Team. Dr. Shaw’s career began with a foundation in social work, leading a community organization to improve the health of individuals involved in street prostitution in Nova Scotia. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Shaw has a doctorate in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University.
Dr. Carol Morley, ND
Carol Morley is a Canadian Naturopathic Doctor with over 20 years of clinical experience supporting women’s health across the lifespan, with a particular focus on preventative care, and nutrition-driven education. Her work centres on helping people understand what is happening in their bodies so they can move through life’s transitions with clarity, confidence, and long-term health in mind. She is the owner of Zawada Health and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), where she contributes to the future of naturopathic medical education in Canada. Carol also works as a consultant for an endometriosis advocacy and education group, supporting evidence-informed, patient-centred approaches to care. She has previously served on the advisory board for Ferring Pharmaceuticals, contributing to the growth of their natural health product portfolio. Education is at the core of Carol’s clinical philosophy. In addition to her private practice, she regularly speaks on nutrition and performance to youth athletes at the grassroots, provincial, and national levels, helping young athletes and their families build strong foundations for health, recovery, and longevity. Her nutrition-forward approach emphasizes practical, sustainable strategies that support both performance and long-term wellbeing. Carol is also the author of Delicious Detox, a cookbook focused on making healthy eating both accessible and enjoyable.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University and is a graduate of CCNM. She lives in Toronto with her family and believes that preventative health — especially during midlife — should feel clear, empowering, and realistic.
And me, the host of this event - Dr. Daiana Castleman, ND, MSCP
I’m a Naturopathic Doctor with a clinical focus in menopause and midlife women's health. I take an evidence-based, integrative approach to help women navigate the physical, emotional, and metabolic changes of midlife with clarity and confidence. I am deeply committed to bridging conventional and naturopathic medicine and work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive, individualized care. Prevention is the cornerstone of my clinical philosophy—and I believe that when women are given accurate, nuanced information, they are empowered to make informed decisions that lead to better long-term health outcomes. A central focus of my work is cardiovascular health, with a particular emphasis on helping women understand their individual risk factors and reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in women worldwide. In addition to my clinical practice, I am the creator of Midlife Thrive Academy, a signature educational program designed to equip women with evidence-based tools for long-term health. I am also an educator and speaker, presenting at conferences and events on menopause, prevention, and healthy aging.
Join us for a day of evidence-based, practical conversations focused on how to protect your health through midlife and beyond. You’ll hear from trusted clinicians who will break down the science behind:
Optimizing your cardiovascular health
Bone health and female sex-specific risk factors
Blood sugar regulation and metabolic health
Sleep and its role in aging, energy, and healthspan
Menopause hormone therapy — what the evidence really says and should it be used for living a long and healthy life
