BC Serna is a filmmaker and men’s coach who has spent the last 18 years telling stories of hope, purpose, and humanitarian impact around the world. Storytelling is his life’s work, and he believes that the most potent form of connection isn’t found in shared interests, but in shared experience.
“Our passions connect us, but our pain bonds us,” he explains.
This philosophy—that vulnerability is the gateway to connection—has shaped everything BC creates. And eventually, it became the truth he had to confront to unlock his biggest, most ambitious dream.
In 2025, BC was named a Top 5 winner of Stan’s Dare to Dream Challenge, earning $10,000 and structured support to bring his vision to life. But more than the prize itself, Dare to Dream gave BC permission to resurface a dream he had quietly shelved for years—and the belief that it was still worth chasing.
What followed wasn’t an overnight success story, but the culmination of nearly two decades of lived experience, creative work, and a long-held vision.
BC’s Creator Journey: 18 Years In the Making
BC’s path into content creation began almost two decades ago. At 19, feeling lost and unsure of his life’s direction, he dropped out of college and traveled the world for six months—volunteering, living with host families, and immersing himself in cultures far beyond what he’d known. That experience led him to a job as a study abroad guide, taking college students around the world.
Then, at 21, he picked up a camera and taught himself film and photography. His early focus was on documenting nonprofits around the world that inspired him and shaped his beliefs.

Back then, he remembers typing “inspiration” into YouTube and finding zero results. So he decided to create the kind of content he wished existed: stories of hope, purpose, and positive change.
Over time, that content grew into a social media community drawn to BC’s perspective and storytelling.
His camera became a bridge—connecting friends and family back home to the impact he witnessed in places like the Philippines, Uganda, and Thailand. Over the course of 18 years, BC traveled to more than 80 countries, documenting projects like building schools, hospitals, and water wells.
BC spent years behind the camera, pouring his energy into amplifying others’ stories. The work was meaningful, impactful, and deeply aligned with his values. But somewhere along the way, his own story began to take a back seat.
Life and Business Before Dare to Dream

After nearly two decades of capturing others’ stories, BC began offering men’s coaching, helping Creators share their truth, use their voice, and overcome the fear of being seen. Along the way, he used Stan Store to share free resources, host his community, and sell his paid coaching programs.
BC believes content creation is one of the fastest paths to personal growth. As he embraced his own masculinity—and his roles as a husband, dad, and entrepreneur—he began using his work to guide men through their own inner processes and transformations.
Before Dare to Dream, BC had found success as a coach, hosting events and retreats. But what many didn’t see was that he was pouring from an empty cup.
He’d carried a dream that was waiting to be revived for nearly 10 years: The Traveling Good Tour. A decade earlier, he had launched the first iteration—gathering friends in an RV, traveling to cities across the United States, fundraising for charities, and spotlighting local nonprofits.
It was life-changing. But as he grew up, started a family, and took on new responsibilities, BC quietly buried the dream and put the tour on pause.
Awakening a Long-Held Dream: BC’s Submission

When BC first saw the Dare to Dream challenge, he immediately got emotional. The contest wasn’t just a monetary opportunity—it felt like an invitation to consider possibilities he rarely allowed himself to entertain: What would he do with a blank check? What was the “craziest dream” he held?
That prompt awakened a dream he’d buried: reviving the Traveling Good Tour.
In the process, something else surfaced, too. Despite having made thousands of videos about others, BC realized that creating his Dare to Dream video was the first time in 18 years that he had ever cohesively put his own story out there. Sharing it publicly felt like a cathartic release—cracking something open.
That single act of storytelling triggered an immediate chain reaction. BC remembers telling his friends that even if he didn’t win a dime, the experience alone had already shifted the direction of his 2025. Sitting with that boundless, limitless mindset forced him to confront what he wanted to be known for—and who he truly wanted to be.
“The challenge acted as the catalyst to reawaken that side within me. Like the sky’s the limit, man. There’s no time to waste.”
Dare to Dream Top 5: What Winning Meant for BC
Winning a Dare to Dream runner-up prize allowed BC to funnel that abundance directly back into his community. He launched a new cohort for his coaching program, using the $10,000 to provide scholarships so people from around the world, including Ukraine and India, could join.
The financial award helped fuel his existing programs and continue his mission through retreats, events, and his online community. But BC says the most profound transformation came from the validation and direction the challenge gave him, reigniting his mission.
Making His Dream a Reality

Today, BC is focused on his biggest project yet: reviving The Traveling Good Tour.
In a media landscape that often hyper-fixates on the negative, his goal is to create the stories he wishes existed. He wants people to log off of social media feeling inspired to volunteer, donate, or simply believe that positive change is possible. That’s what the Traveling Good Tour is all about.
His plan is ambitious: fill multiple RVs with creative individuals dedicated to changing the world, travel to 30 cities across the United States, highlight local heroes and nonprofits, throw parties with a purpose, raise money, and make purpose “popular.”
“The project I’m working on right now for 2026 is going to be 18 years in the making.”
A project he believes wouldn’t be happening without Dare to Dream.
Dare to Dream also helped evolve BC’s mindset. He now consciously chooses to live with “main character energy,” pushing past the comfort of complacency. After articulating this massive, scary dream, he immediately found support: within ten days of sharing the idea with a few friends, a team of eight had formed to help him secure RVs and funding.
What Happens When You Say Yes to Your Dream
BC’s journey points to a powerful truth: sharing your story can be a force for transformation.
He rejects the idea that you have to wait until you’re fully qualified, have the perfect branding, or are financially ready to start. BC believes we’re living through a modern renaissance—one where anyone can turn what they love into income and impact. Creation, in his eyes, is how we move emotion, process pain, and share our humanity.
For BC, Dare to Dream wasn’t just about the prize—it was an invitation to imagine what was possible and say his dream out loud. And in doing so, he set something much bigger in motion.
“One person who you have no idea who they are could watch your video, and it can give them hope and a vision for their dream.”
That’s the ripple effect of sharing your story. When you put your dream into the world, you send a signal—one that allows the right people, opportunities, and moments to find you. Your story matters. And sometimes, simply telling it is what opens doors.
